Bryggen in Bergen
For over 400 years, the Hanseatic wharf at Bryggen – one of Bergen's main attractions – was home to an office of the Hanseatic League. The Hanseatic League dominated trade in Northern Europe with centers in Rostock, London, Bruges, Riga, Novgorod and Bergen.

- Bryggen was a part of the Hanseatic League's trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century
